In the streets of colonial Brazil, greengrocers sell a delicacy made of rapadura and peanuts. When they are distracted, naughty kids run by and snatch one of the delicacies. To say there's no need to steal, the women shout: " Pede, moleque, pede! (Ask, boy, ask!) This is how our pé de moleque was christened, a classic that appeared in Brazil in the middle of the 16th century, with the arrival of sugar cane in the Captaincy of São Vicente.
This is the origin of Pé de Moleque, a sweet made from a mixture of peanuts and rapadura.
