Alcambar is a word of Arabic origin (Al Qambar) meaning lark. The lark is a small bird that has spread widely in the Serra da Gardunha and has a distinctive song. The concept is to produce wines only from the region's indigenous grape varieties, originating in the Serra da Gardunha, combining the two the south for fruit and warmth and the north for elegance and freshness.
