Brown Sugar is an unrefined sugar and the first to be extracted from the juice of sugar cane. It is brown in color due to the molasses, a substance found in sugar cane, and of medium to large crystal, obtained directly from the purified juices of the sugar cane. It has a slight rum and vanilla flavor, which makes it ideal for cookies, coffee desserts, custard, gingerbread, or to sprinkle over baked fruit.
