Description
This Buttery Sheep’s Cheese from Seia is a traditional Portuguese cured cheese made from raw sheep’s milk, using cardoon and rennet for natural coagulation. It has a semi-soft, buttery texture and a smooth, creamy paste, with a pale white to slightly yellow colour and few or no holes.
Produced in the Serra da Estrela region, this cheese reflects centuries of artisanal Portuguese cheesemaking. Its flavour and texture naturally evolve over time, becoming more intense and slightly firmer as it matures.
Awarded Silver at the World Cheese Awards 2023/24, it stands out for its refined taste and distinctive character.
