Discover the unique and authentic flavours of the Bahian hinterland with the Graveteiro Collection, proudly brought to you by Coopercuc. Since its foundation in 2004, the Canudos, Uauá and Curaçá Family Farming Cooperative (COOPERCUC) has been a unifying force, uniting family farmers from three municipalities in a mission of collaborative production and commercialisation. With 24 women and 20 men on the board, coming from social activism and left-wing movements, COOPERCUC was born out of a determination to organise production and promote socio-economic development in the region.
Rooted in tradition and community:
COOPERCUC's history goes back to 1986, when a group of twenty women got together to make handicraft products from umbu. What began as a modest initiative has grown over the years to involve more than 100 people in around 30 communities in the Unidos do Sertão group. Today, this craft tradition is preserved and celebrated in all the products in the Coopercuc Collection, reflecting the cultural richness and care with which they are produced.
Handcrafted Products and Authentic Flavours:
Our collection features a variety of handcrafted products that capture the essence of the Bahian hinterland. From umbu sweets to natural juices and jams, each item is carefully prepared using traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation. Each bite is a sensory journey into the traditions and landscapes of the sertão, inviting you to savour the true soul of the region.
